Job Description:

Responsible for optimizing the flow of stories and the value delivered by one or more Scrum teams. Coordinates and facilitates Scrum ceremonies, managing dependencies for the team, providing visibility into team delivery plans and progress, enabling continuous improvement within the team. Ensures the impediments are resolved quickly, the team follows their agreed-to processes, and that there is a good relationship between the Product Owner and the development team. Acts as an Agile Coach, promoting and coaching the Agile mindset and principles, empowering the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential. Guides and coaches one or more teams on Scrum practices, and develops their understanding of Agile principles. Facilitates Scrum ceremonies i.e. Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos/Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. In a Scaled Agile model, facilitates scaled planning for the team - e.g. Pre Planning/ Preparation, PI Planning Events - and represents the team in Scrum of Scrums/ART Syncs. Helps the team define norms/agreements, like a Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, and enforces the agreements. Ensures the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the PO). Facilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the team. Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration within the Agile team to support value delivery and Sprint commitments. Provides visibility into the Agile teams delivery plans and progress against plan to stakeholders. Enables the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the team. Measures team delivery, maturity, and performance and reviews the metrics with the team to identify improvement opportunities. Mentors more junior Scrum Masters. Individual Contributor.

Overview:

This Candidate will be performing the Scrum Master role for one or more agile teams. The teams consist of technical analysts, system analysts and engineering specialists in the areas of DevOps, Infrastructure and software management, application support in the Wholesale Credit space. As Scrum Master, the Candidate will be responsible for a wide range tasks including leading Agile meeting cadence, working with other Project managers and Scrum Masters, attending Agile ceremonies, managing story boards(Kanban) and backlogs, business analysis, project coordination/tracking/reporting, coordinating with release management, risk mitigation, timelines and hitting milestones.

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years' experience on a delivery team as a Scrum Master
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Kanban, Scrum etc
  • Knowledge of onboarding team to Agile/Scrum best practices
  • Manage/Lead all Agile & Scrum Ceremonies including Planning, Refinements, Daily Stand-up, Retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums
  • Knowledge of JIRA Administration, Customization, and workflow to enable scrum teams to JIRA
  • Good understanding of project management and waterfall SDLC as external groups we interface with are often waterfall based
  • Exceptional facilitation skills to ensure effective running of agile cadence meetings, workshops and team meetings
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to foster strong collaboration among team members and multitask effectively
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong JIRA and Confluence Experience
  • Very detail oriented, organized, and analytical

Desired Skills:
  • Wholesale Credit experience
  • First level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I, Scaled Agile SSM, etc)
  • Experience with multiple Scrum and Kanban teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile delivery model nice to have, but not required
  • Advanced degree preferred
