Homeschool Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for a friendly and competent Homeschool Teaching Assistant to join our family. In this position, you will be responsible for supervising children during their homeschooling activities, supporting lessons planned, preparing lesson material, and maintaining homeschool area tidiness.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment in and around the home. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of teaching methods of children between the ages of 4-9.

Teacher Assistant Responsibilities:

Work with the online lead teacher to monitor the schedule.

Assist with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment (provided).

Review lesson material with children individually or in small groups.

Ensure the homeschooling environment is safe and clean.

Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and extracurricular activities.

Collaborate with online lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.

Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed.

Homeschool Teacher Assistant Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a teaching assistant or similar role.

Solid understanding of pre-k, kindergarden, and elementary activities and teaching best practices.

Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
