Workplace Technology team is responsible for the strategy, engineering, and strategic deployment activities for all end user services, including mobile services, Windows physical and virtual desktop, Mac, Microsoft 365, email, chat, collaboration, and related technologies. Our mission is to articulate the vision for employee productivity and collaboration for the Bank, selective innovative technologies to transform the end user experience.

The Role As a

Windows Automation/Scripting SME, you will be an advanced Windows scripting subject matter expert who will be working with our desktop engineering team to provide various automation tasks/scripts for the Windows desktop and Citrix/VDI environment. Core responsibilities will be focused on scripting and automation, primarily with PowerShell. Tasks would include providing scripts to automate desktop queries such as reading and writing values to the OS, writing provisioning scripts to automate creating VDI workloads and assigning users, creating de-provisioning processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and script various tasks / routines that will be used for automation & orchestration in our desktop and VDI environment
  • Work with key stakeholders on requirements gathering to ensure tools that are developed meet both business and IT requirements.
  • Work to ensure we follow best practices for source code control and versioning for all the developed code.
  • Work with other team members to take scripts and tools that may have been completed regionally and productionize them.
  • Work with front end development team on structure and design of front-end tools that may leverage the scripts.
  • Work with asset management team (CMDB repository) to ensure data requirements are captured
  • Work with other teams on being able to consume APIs / web services that they may provide.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Strong Windows PowerShell scripting knowledge.
  • Strong Windows Desktop OS and WMI understanding.
  • General understanding of virtualization technologies
  • General understanding of networks and VLANs
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop concepts.
  • SCCM collection, sequencing and application deployment experience. Application packaging understanding.
  • Experience with dealing with databases and data manipulation.
  • VMWare SDK experience using PowerCLI
  • Microsoft Hyper-V experience
  • .Net and Visual Studio development experience
  • General Linux experience
  • Javascript experience.
  • Ansible Core and Ansible Tower

Subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space. Participates in or leads initiatives to analyze infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Utilizes standard procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Manages the processes for ensuring that all systems/applications/software/hardware are compliant with Corporate policy/procedures. Monitors project plans and budgets. Contributes to developing and monitoring the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Develops reports in conjunction with the Fellow Architect which demonstrate business opportunities and road map strategies that add business value. Drafts proposals on infrastructure architecture needs for M&A activity, and supports the creation of executive summaries. This person is a subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space. Consults and advises application development groups on solution architecture design.monitoring implmentation; recommending solutions based on BNYM and industry best practices. Acts as the lead for major incident resolution. Drives strategy to increase automation across the organization.
