To meet the evolving demands of these stakeholders, power utilities will need to decarbonize their business and show evidence of such in a way that is both transparent and uniform across the sector. This will require utilities to undertake a transformational journey from refreshing their strategy to operationalizing a decarbonization framework across their business, underpinned by technology and systems to measure and report and communicate process in an effective way.The opportunityEY is responding to this business imperative by helping utilities navigate the demands of decarbonization, in conjunction with their existing mission to provide reliable, resilient, and affordable energy. Doing so successfully requires engaging clients at multiple points in the lifecycle and mobilizing capability across multiple EY competencies, including climate change, technology, risk and people practices. We are standing up an industry-focused team to drive this market opportunity; including a Senior Manager who will be a founding member of this sales & solution team.Your key responsibilitiesYour role is to help position EY to best respond to our clients most pressing issues as they navigate and communicate their transition to a net zero energy future. You will engage with clients to meet their challenges and lead sales pursuits; you will engage with EY practices to coordinate a One-EY approach to clients; you will be instrumental in the the design and architecture of industry-focused, cross-practice solutions; you will take a lead role in development of sales and go-to-market material.Your role will be focussed on major utilities in the US market; as the solution matures you will have the opportunity to expand across the EY Americas region. The role will require some collaboration with our EY Global teams, primarily in Europe, to ensure learnings are shared and strategies are consistent.Skills and attributes for successWe are seeking accomplished, highly talented consultants with experience in developing solutions as well as selling and delivering business transformations to market leading clients. We are looking for outstanding managers of our people, stewards of our culture, business developers, and thought leaders who are keen to help grow our practice.Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new processes and uncover new offering that may assist current customer base.

Provide mentoring and motivate diverse client engagement teams by delivering constructive on-the-job coaching to team members, while fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.

Drive high-quality work within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure clients are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

Build relationships with client personnel and deliver quality client services. Strive to assist our clients uncover additional areas of opportunity and manage the business development process.

Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to serve clients.

To qualify for the role you must have the following:8 years of overall business experience with a minimum of 2-4 years of business consulting experience

A deep knowledge of the utility sector with at least 5 years of experience working in this industry

Sustainability and climate change related experience and understanding, a passion and purpose for helping utilities navigate the transition to a net zero energy future

A graduate degree from a leading university in business administration or a quantitative discipline

Significant experience in market making and selling to major organizations

Recent leadership experience in new program development and go to market strategies

Strategic business transformation thinking and solutioning skills; strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills; curious mindset and desire to learn and grow

Ideally, you'll also haveExperience in emissions measurement management and net-zero pathways

Experience and understanding in systems, data and technology relating to decarbonization and emissions measurement and reporting

A practical, fact-driven, results-oriented leader who is focused on doing the right thing for our clients

A thought leader who is interested in helping our practice develop and launch new capabilities
