The IT Manager is responsible for delivering and supporting custom client/server and web tool applications in accordance with client service order agreements, policies, and procedures. The IT Manager works with the Operations, Client Services, and Sales divisions, as well as the client, to brainstorm ideas and provide cost estimates for services promised and provided. The IT Manager participates with and involves the IT staff in the full life cycle of project development. The IT Manager also oversees the staff that handles the system network and is responsible for the procurement of hardware and software. The IT Manager is responsible for all IT Security requirements and ensuring all policies, procedures, and SOC1 requirements are followed.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work with key staff to have plan for system requirements and/or system modifications for Client Projects.
- Ensure there is an understanding of what the client really wants and needs and that all items are agreed to. Working through key staff members, this can include document specifications and multiple conversations/emails with client.
- Lead key staff to work with client in all phases of projects, from specifications design to system implementation. Support all phases of the project life cycle.
- Working with IT Project Lead to delegate work to staff and ensure that the staff understands the project/client requirements. Follow up with staff and test changes before they are put in production.
- Prioritize projects and resources available to provide timing estimates to Sales, PSG and/or Client.
- Work with Sales and PSG to provide client cost estimates and brainstorm development ideas or client development requests.
- Work creatively to control costs through economical utilization of available resources, (staff and materials).
- Meet client needs through the support and modification of existing systems, whenever possible. Oversee the leveraging of existing code to maximize profit and minimize costs.
- Working with Staff, Manage computer network and procurement of hardware and software for office. Help identify, determine cost/benefit, and source equipment as agreed to, while working within the approved budget.
- Work with client data to convert and massage into new custom client/server or web tool system.
- Work with General Manager and Human Resources to maintain adequate staffing levels and to ensure staff is following company policies and procedures.
- Hire and manage IT personnel.
- Complete and conduct scheduled performance appraisals and make salary recommendations.
- Mentor, motivate, and monitor staff performance for performance and accountability.
- Assist in long term planning for new technologies including:
- Website Development, Languages, etc.
- Mobile App usage
- Web Tracking of code, SSO, etc.
- Business Intelligence Reporting integration
- Making security recommendations for data, data storage, etc.
- Bachelor of Science Degree. IT degree preferred.
- Knowledge of database design in MS SQL, and experience in Object-oriented programming necessary.
- Design and coding experience with ASP.NET in C# is necessary.
- Prefer a minimum of 3 years’ experience demonstrated leadership and management experience.
- Must be highly organized with excellent follow-up skills.
- Must be able to take initiative on projects and take responsibility for project completion via leading the staff to meet deliverables and deadlines.
- Prefer a minimum of 3 years’ experience supervising others, including hiring, motivating, counseling, and terminating.
- Must be able to recognize employee stress level and implement changes to provide a positive work environment.
- Able to work with staff of various skill level, background, and ability. Must be able to solve problems.
