Registration Medical Assistant (Night Shift)
Tennessee, Knoxville, 37901 Knoxville USAJob Title: Registration Medical AssistantJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Registration Medical Assistant for our Emergency Room. The MA will be responsible for checking in patients and taking their vitals upon arrival. If a patient is in distress and needs urgent care, the MA will notify the nursing staff immediately.Responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for patients arriving to the emergency department.
Collect the patient’s name and reason for visit.
Enter the data so the patient is visible on the tracking board.
Notify RN, 'Patient for triage' if RN needed immediately.
Enter and update the tracking board promptly to communicate with staff.
Document and maintain patient records including temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, oxygen saturation, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
Assist in maintaining a safe environment, which may include checking equipment daily for proper function and reporting equipment that is out of order, appropriate handling of linen, and storing of supplies.
Respond to patient requests and keep them updated on care progress.
Report observed changes in patient condition to nurse or provider.
Assist in triage with vital signs.
Help to maintain clean and orderly patient and work environment.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards. Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Ability to take blood pressure
Conduct phlebotomy as needed
Customer service skills
Experience with electronic medical records
Medical assisting experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3 years clinical experience preferred (MA certified or non-certified)
Phlebotomy skills
MA certification OR equivalent experience (certification not required)
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an office/hospital setting. The facility has a total of 541 beds, including 27 ICUs. The role includes night shifts, specifically from Monday to Wednesday, 7 PM to 7 AM, with additional hours available if interested. The work involves maintaining a clean and orderly environment, handling medical equipment, and adhering to safety standard.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
