Laboratory Analyst I - Organic Prep (2nd or 3rd Shift Available) - Eurofins Environment Testing - Knoxville, TN

The Organic Prep Analyst I - 2nd / 3rd Shift will prepare and analyze environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins’ Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrate and promote the company visionShow regular attendance and punctualityPerform job functions in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing’s EHS and QA standardsApply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriateWork under close supervision using routine and standard methodsTake responsibility for general housekeeping in group’s work areaLearn to use the Laboratory Information Management System to access sample backlogs, schedule work, record essential data and information, calculate results and report client data.Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Aliquot and weigh samplesWash glasswarePrepare samples using standard techniquesRecord and report data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerform chemical analysis using standard techniquesCalculate dataPerform basic instrumental analysisPerform routine instrument maintenanceConduct all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerform other duties as assignedThe successful candidate will demonstrate the willingness and ability to become trained and competent in the use of complex instrumentation including but not limited to gel permeation chromatography, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, instrument specific data systems and laboratory management systems.Work Schedules:Work schedule will consist working the Second Shift or the Third Shift, in which a shift differential will apply. The shift differential will apply to shift schedules other than First Shift. Overtime is offered and may be expected when needed to meet work load demands.
