Hybrid UX Designer / Frontend EngineerAre you passionate about designing and developing great digital experiences? Do you consider yourself part-designer and part-engineer? If so, we want to meet you.We re looking for an experienced hybrid UX Designer / Frontend Engineer with an eye for detail to help our UX team create user experiences that are intelligent, efficient, simple, and delightful. We re a small, energetic UX Team in a large, thriving healthcare company. We serve healthcare professionals from across the nation and the work we do helps lead to better outcomes for millions of patients.THE DUTIES OF THIS ROLE
- Focus on delivering craft and quality by contributing to a design system used by multiple engineering teams
- Accountable for creating high-quality UIs and user experiences in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, React.
- Help to build, maintain, and champion our UI component library
- Work with software engineers in our IT organization, coaching frontend best practices and assisting in the development of UIs
- Contribute to UX/UI standards development
- Contribute to UX design solutions
- Visual QA
- In addition to the duties above, this person will have the opportunity to work on new products and new product features as the needs of the organization shift.
- Can create innovative end-to-end product experiences
- Delivers user-friendly and experientially compelling products that solve user problems and business needs
- Strong visual design skill with meticulous attention to details
- Strong understanding of user-research and testing methodologies and can partners with researchers as needed.
- Ability to present work to different stakeholders and leadership for review and feedback.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Professional-level competency in industry-standard tools
- Can conduct competitive analysis and general market research
- Facilitates design discussions and ideation sessions
- Stays current with emerging UX and product design trends and technique and effectively apply them to the work.
- Shares knowledge with other partners on regular basis.
- Effectively uses organization s standard design system, as well as contribute to it.
- Works closely with other designers, engineers and product partners to ensure faithful execution of projects from conception to release, as well as post-release optimization and enhancements.
- Understand how design is translated into code with common constraints engineers face.
- 6+ years of experience as a frontend developer.
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience
- A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in frontend development
- Experience building, working in, and/or managing enterprise UI component libraries utilized by multiple teams of developers
- Working knowledge of the latest trends and advances in UI and UX
- Familiarity with related UX disciplines: information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design principles and processes, user testing and research
- Excellent visual/verbal communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal skills
