Maintenance Technician (Chattanooga)

Tennessee RiverPlace (TRP):

TRP inhabits 100+ acres of land on the Tennessee River outside of Chattanooga, TN. TRP serves as a venue for weddings, events, and short-term rental properties. It operates a bed and breakfast and three short-term rental houses on the property. We are currently in the process of opening up a fourth short-term rental property.

Maintenance Technician and Groundskeeper

Reports to:

General Manager – Tennessee RiverPlace

Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician and Groundskeeper (MTG) will perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the care, maintenance, and modification of TRP. This will include operating groundskeeping equipment like tractors, lawn mowers, and power tools for the planting, cultivating, and trimming of the grounds and landscapes. The MTG will also perform maintenance on all equipment and tools and make repairs on all rental homes and Main Villa as directed. The MTG will be responsible for making carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs alongside painting and organizing setups for weddings and other events. The MTG will help ensure that all facilities and services of TRP are operational and functional on a daily basis. On-site residency might be provided.

Requirements:

 Must have at least five years’ experience in maintenance and groundskeeping

 Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive heavy trucks and tractors

 Must be able to work flexible hours scheduled around weddings, events, and rental properties

 Ability to work with power tools and heavy machinery

 Ability to take a part machines and equipment to remove and replace defective parts

 Experience and skill installing appliances and equipment

 Ability to make repairs on barns, houses, and other TRP buildings and structures

 Experience and skill in groundskeeping and gardening

 Experience conducting routine inspections and maintenance of property and premises

 Ability to communicate well with others and follow written and oral instructions

 Ability to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis and 100 pounds on an occasional basis

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Performs tasks that are common to the upkeep and maintenance of grounds and buildings

 Performs maintenance and repairs on all buildings and structures on the property

 Ensures that all grounds and maintenance equipment is operational and functional at all times

 Prepares and ensures that all facilities and grounds are ready for scheduled events and reservations

 Performs carpentry work, painting jobs, patching, finishing, and maintaining of all walls, structures, and

woodwork

 Removes trash and debris from grounds and buildings

 Contributes to the work environment and the overall success of TRP

 Weekly Hours: 30-40 hours
