Assistant General Manager

The Opportunity:WestRock has an opportunity in our Chattanooga Recycle facility for an

Assistant General Manager. Chattanooga Recycle is a training ground

for future management. The role of the Assistant General Manager of

a WestRock recycled fiber plant is to assist and apprentice in the management

of all aspects of the facility. Management areas include plant

operations, compliance, safety, business development, employee management, and

meeting corporate profit goals. Our goal is to increase our management bench

strength within the division. The ideal candidate will be ambitious,

open to being mentored, and willing to relocate as needed. We are

looking to make a long-term investment in the ideal candidate.The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the General

Manager in the following areas -SAFETYMaintain a strong focus with the primary emphasis geared towards SOAR behavior

tracking, injury recognition and prevention, while utilizing Division and

Corporate assistanceDirect the training and implementation of all required Safety programsEnsure all safety and environmental programs are up-to-date and fully

functionalOPERATIONSUnderstand and implement savings initiatives while maintaining the highest

level of customer satisfactionCoordinate the production of the facility in order to achieve division goalsSupervise the dispatch of raw materials and shipment of finished goodsMaintain an effective work force through personnel managementCOMPLIANCEMaintain compliance in all areas including, but not limited to, OSHA, EPA, DOT

and all local codesMaintain the security of all company assets and informationBUSINESS DEVELOPMENTDevelop a comprehensive understanding of the P & L and financial support

functionsSeek out and develops new opportunities for increased businessManage and direct the efforts of the procurement representative and the

customer service representativeCOMPUTER SKILLSMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)What You Need forthis Role:Bachelor’s degree requiredMBA a plusMotivated to learn and grow in the industryExperience in the recycling & waste industry a plus (recycle, document
