Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for inspecting and maintaining the mechanical and electrical parts of our trailers. Service and repair trailer parts, compile inspection reports and ensure that trailers are roadworthy.

- Inspect, troubleshoot and repair trailer bodies, systems and components.

- Perform preventative maintenance measures on trailers.

- Inspecting, servicing and replacing trailer parts, including tires.

- Checking and repairing the brake and electrical systems.

- Test all systems and equipment for performance issues.

- Ensure that trailers meet the US Department of Transportation’s road safety requirements.

- Compile inspection reports, documenting repairs and reporting all findings to management.

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment overhead cranes, roll formers, press brakes and resistance welders.

- Assist with the servicing and repairing of more complex equipment.

- Comply with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program.

Qualifications

- At least three years of experience as a trailer mechanic.

- Experience in welding and fabricating.

- Ability to read measurements accurately.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
