Lead Software Engineer (REMOTE)

DescriptionAs a Lead Software Engineer, you will drive the development of complex and innovative medical software in afast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for bringing cool ideas to life and maximizing hardware and software performance. You will be responsible for turning ideas into tasks and writing large areas of firmware for device drivers, task manager, device manger, control algorithms, and various communication protocols which make our products exceptional. You will develop tools which automate the software build process, system design and production testing.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Working as the technical lead on a cross-functional product development team whose daily activities will focus on thedesign, development, documentation and test of products for Welch Allyn. As the product transitions to the sales team pre-sales and post-sales, support will be required as needed to support our customers.The Software Engineering Lead will provide key technical leadership on one or more product development projectsimplemented under an FDA compliant product development process. The position will be involved in all aspects of the development process from concept thru production as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. It will be expected to challenge assumptions and seeks new ideas by active solicitation of opposing perspectives and alternative ideas. Also, can provide proactive sharing of accomplishments, knowledge, lessons, and updates across the organization.Provide technical leadership for software engineering team

Experience in Project management would be very nice to have.

Estimate and scope development work

Identify and manage areas of risk

Qualifications8 years experience of experience in Software Engineering or similar field.

.5 years experience with SDLC tools and processes including GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, C# .Net

Hands on experience with Angular framework or working experience in Kubernetes would be highly desirable. Also, expertise in CI/CD pipeline, experience in working with automated testing would nice to have as well. Working experience with DevOps, Jira would be highly desirable.

Basic project management experience or knowledge would be highly desirable.

Proven experience leading junior level team members

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge and understanding of test driven application development

Knowledge and understanding of design and development of modern web applications and mobile technologies

Desired Skills:Experience programming or developing applicationsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
