Staff Accountant

DescriptionStaff Accountant candidates will be interested in Robert Half Finance's full-time opportunity with an innovative company. To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.What you get to do every dayProduce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Participate in various department-wide initiatives

Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

Solid understanding of QuickBooks

Expertise in month end closings

Financial statement preparation experience

Proven knowledge of Sales Tax

POS (point of sale) experience

Financial Statement experience

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Excellent attention to detail

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
