Position title: System Support Analyst - Security Tools

Duration: 12 months, 40 hours per week

Location: Columbia, SC (Initial Remote)

CANDIDATE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
  • Experience with troubleshooting Applications that run on Linux or Windows
  • Coding experience in Java, C, or Perl (any one)
  • Have an understanding of servers, networks, IP's, and a general comfort level with PC/Non-host infrastructure.

SYSTEMS THE POSITION WILL INTERACT WITH/BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Monitoring, Development, and Infrastructure Deployment applications
  • Support of Software/Hardware Deployment/Automation Tools.

SKILLSETS (Not all Required):
  • Familiarity / Experience with administration of any of the following: BlackDuck, Exabeam, Extrahop, FireEye, Nessus, Splunk, Tripwire (Familiarity with one/more but not all Required).

Preferred Experience with:
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux (v7), Windows server
  • Support of internally developed and COTS applications on multiple different platforms
  • Responsible for the support of Deploying and/or maintaining monitoring applications, Software/Hardware deployment tools, and automation tools.

WORKING HOURS/CONDITIONS:
  • Normal work 8-5 with on-call rotation and that rotation includes some work Sunday Evenings

PRIMARY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION:
  • Relationships will be inside the IS Organization.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • 30% Provide enhancement recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Analyze new/revised processes/change requests from the maintainer. Collaborate with various internal groups and external vendors to ensure all specifications are met and problems are resolved as they arise.
  • 30% Participate in the development of custom integration solutions. Review and research issues reported from external/internal customers. Evaluate interrelationships in projects to determine how changes/installations of one program will affect others.
  • 25% Participate in work sessions and walkthroughs for quality and production implementations, releases, data conversion projects and/or disaster recovery exercises. Attend implementation meetings to determine impact to system availability and assignment of team resources for these implementations.
  • 10% Work closely with team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Act as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Answer questions and/or provide training for the Production Support team on current system.
  • 5% Perform installations, configuration, analysis, scheduling and tuning on complex projects. Ensure Production and Test environments are up and functioning properly. Perform corrective actions whenever possible to fix applications that end abnormally.
