Location: Providence, RI Description: Our client is currently seeking a IT Systems Administrator in the Providence, RI area, who is responsible for the reliability and deployment of computer and information systems, server and desktop support, access control, security, and surveillance, etc. This is a full time permanent position, hours are 8:30am-5pm with occasional off hours for system related updates/upgrades/deployment supporting a 24/7 workforce.

At this time, the client is not offering sponsorship, and candidates must be either or permanent resident/. No C2C, no contractors.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions of server hardware and software applications
  • software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations
  • System documentation and logs
  • HP Nimble and EMC SAN environments
  • VMWare ESK 6X or higher and VMWare Virtual Center desktop, mobile, and server systems administration at hardware and software levels
  • Manage antivirus, firewall, security systems
  • Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations
  • Support users in 24/7 business environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • BS Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical 4 year degree
  • 6+years of experience in systems administration to include patching servers, backups, VMWare, permissions, networking infrastructure services and security
  • Tier 1 and Tier II Windows Server and Desktop Support
  • Windows 2012/2016/2019), and MS server operating systems and services (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File and Print Services, SQL, SCCM, permission
  • Understanding of networking - routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, VLANs
  • Experience with VMWare and SAN environments
  • Experience with Dell hardware, iPhone, Android, Tablets, Mac laptops and desktops
  • Experience writing SQL queries for data analysis
