Are you looking to apply your expertise to design novel biotherapeutics sought at addressing the most difficult disease challenges? We at Janssen Biotherapeutics are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our team committed to the ambitious mission of changing the future of medicine. As a member of the Biologics Discovery team, you will apply the latest high throughput technologies to express and screen novel lead molecules for addressing unmet medical needs. Key Responsibilities: Perform high throughput expression and characterization of therapeutic molecules.

Proactively implement strategies using ‘groundbreaking’ technologies and improve existing processes to align with project needs enabling delivery of lead candidates in a timely fashion

Hands-on experience with protein expression and characterization technologies using established high throughput robotic platforms and analytical methods to ensure the highest quality therapeutic lead proteins.

Ability to take an integral role in project and functional teams to drive project advancement.

Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and write reports, summaries, protocols, and manuscripts.

QualificationsEducation: PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics or related field.

B.Sc. or M.Sc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 6+ years of post-graduation experience

Required:

Excel at culturing various cell lines such CHO and HEK.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred skills:

Experience with running and optimizing Bioreactor.

Demonstrated excellence at CHO/HEK transient transfection or engineering CHO/HEK cell line for altering expression level/post translational modification such as glycoengineering.

Familiar with affinity and non-affinity protein purification technologies.

Experience with protein engineering of therapeutic proteins such as antibodies and cytokines.

Knowledge of plasmid DNA design for optimizing protein expression.
