Essential Job Functions:Directs leads and motivates Superintendentswith respect to safety, food safety, product quality, production volume, expenses, budgets, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.

Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Fabrication floor.

Oversees efficiency throughmonitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with Superintendents.

Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary.

Maintainsacceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification.

Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues. Takes responsibility for the safety and wellbeing.

Help develop the management team of theFacilitythrough active participation in group meetings.

Trains and develops Superintendentsproviding guidance on managerialand teamworkskillsto attain department objectives.

Works closely with the Quality AssuranceDepartment to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced.

Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced.

Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues.

Contribute to the ongoing development ofJBSpolicies and procedures.

Communicate to all levels within the organizationon information as needed.

Experience Required:High school diploma or GED equivalent with preferred college degree.

5+year’s experiencein the protein/food industry required with at least 3 years in a general foreman or superintendent role or higher.

Skills/Abilities Required:Strongwritten and verbalEnglishcommunication skills, problem solvingskillsand leadership qualities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaborativelywith other.

Extensive knowledge ofmeat products, equipment and specifications.

Must be able to work inavery cold,damp andnoisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machinery.

Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work.

Bilingual skills a plusbut not required.
