Position Summary:The Manager of Driver Programs is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to recruit, hire, and retain top driver talent. This position will work with our Corporate Staffing Partners and field leaders to understand the needs of the business to develop and implement programs to effectively recruit, hire, and retain safe, professional, qualified driver candidates.

Position Responsibilities:- Work with internal / external stakeholders to build efficiencies in existing hiring processes and develop new approaches to address the challenges associated with hiring professional truck drivers.- Work closely with the Corporate Staffing department to optimize all recruiting and hiring processes including advertising, application, and background check.- Collaborate with Corporate Compensation and local Area HR to maintain an understanding of Penske Logistics various local labor markets with regard to driver pay to ensure competitive driver pay packages.- Conduct best practice research on the transportation industry, including competitive review of compensation, benefits, recruiting practices. Provide resulting recommendations to the field / leadership on ways to improve the driver hiring experience.- Work with Penske corporate partners to develop the Penske driver brand to ensure we have the best themes and messages to acquire top talent.- Develop workforce metrics that allow leaders to understand the current state and provide the necessary information to make informed resource decisions.- Spend time in the field talking with leaders, managers and hourly associates to better understand the business and help identify best strategies to address issues and challenges.- Partner with Field HR Team and Corporate HR Manager to develop and deploy effective retention processes such as onboarding, recognition and training to set associates up for success, maximize growth potential and recognize top performers.- Other projects as assigned by the Director, Corporate HR

Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.- 5-7 years of large organization recruiting experience in the transportation industry with at least 3 years of experience in enterprise or corporate initiative program management and influencing change in process or behaviors.- Strong working knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures utilized in recruitment, selection, training methods and concepts, associate relations and compensation.- Knowledge of CDL Driver labor market.- Knowledge of DOT regulations and employment law.- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.- Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills.- Strong organizational, project and process management skills.- Work well within a team construct to build consensus and gain approval on recommended strategies.- Ability to influence others and drive organizational change.- Must have a passion for working with professional truck drivers and have the ability to relate to hourly associates.- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
