The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.Responsibilities

Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Requirements

Command of bank reconciliations

Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

Proficiency in journal entries

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Vow to meet business deadlines

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
