Job Description
Role OverviewThe Data Integration Engineer I, reporting to Sr Mgr, Information Management, will be in a Agile Sprint team working with Project Managers and other Data Integration Engineers to deliver Data Integration projects. As a member of this agile team, you’ll be doing story grooming, planning, daily stand-up, deployment review, sprint demo, retrospective, and other supporting technical discussions.
A day in the life…- You will be largely supporting and maintaining existing customer data integration. Activities include monitoring, analyizing and troubleshooting routine data feed arrival, processing and loading activities.
- You will serve as a primary point of contact for Eligibilty and Carrier feed management. Interacts with data partners and internal stakeholders to ensure proper and expcted data feed arrival and processing.
- You will analyize results of routine data feed processing including Anomoly Detection results, Drop off Reporting and other issue reporting. As issues arise, you will take action to resolve with data partners and internal partner teams as needed.
- You will create and manage data management jobs and monitoring activities in support of routine data integration.
- Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis and utilize internal defect tracking tool to create detailed, high quality error reports. Verify that fixes for defects and new features work as expected and do not cause regressions in affected areas. Analyze bug trends/patterns and customer feedback to drive for better customer experiences
- Works on new customer implementation projects to bring in external data sets and integrate with Accolade systems to support our business operation. All the required work will be sliced into epics, stories and tasks into our backlogs. You will work with the rest of the team to groom, plan and commit to stories for sprint (2 weeks) deliveries.
- You are expected to utilize critical thinking and analytic skills to support & maintain new and existing data integrations. The work will include analyzing data files, data layouts and data dictionaries from providers of health care administrative data (eligibility, account/plan, medical claims, pharmacy claims) to understand data structure and operating rules for transforming to common data format, and create source to target mappings.
- You will be working with other Data Integration Engineers interactively to review the mappings and all other specs of the requirements to ensure they are implemented correctly, and you will also develop and execute test cases to ensure source data has been accurately mapped, transformed and loaded
- You will be involved in creating test cases, developing & executing test scripts to validate data partner feeds meet specifications and the data profile is as expected. You will produce and maintain issue trackers, help triage bugs and drive issues to resolution, keeping everyone aware of QA status.
- Outside day to day sprint work, we provide opportunities for new technology and cross functional trainings, and encourage people to work on innovation projects.
Qualifications
What we are looking for…- ·Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business, Healthcare or other related fields
- 1-2+ years of hands on experience with data centric testing methodology and working in database environment, preferably working with healthcare claims and enrollment data.
- SQL skills to support data analysis and test scripting to validate data, knowledge of multi-dimensional models, including experience testing slowly changing dimensions (SCD) and change data capture (CDC) procedures.
- Experience on an Agile development team working in a continuous integration development model. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.
- Ability to analyze data and process flows, able to collaborate development of business requirements and functional specifications to align data processes with business goals
