Deployment Technician

Position Description In this role, the selected candidate will be working with a global team to enable our client through their Windows Upgrade from Windows 7 and unsupported Windows 10, to the latest version of Windows 10 across their global Manufacturing sites. The upgrades in scope will occur in the fast-paced laboratory and manufacturing environment, where minimizing business disruption is critical.

Your future duties and responsibilities CGI is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as Deployment Technician and to support our client through their Laboratory/Manufacturing Windows upgrade. The Deployment Technician will verify hardware and software requirements, receive new PC (as required), update the operating system of new or existing PCs, install and configure required software, build and deploy the computer with the updates software, and update the asset registry with the new system information. Able to perform technical testing and troubleshooting as required. Maintains general understanding of business process supported by hardware/software and attached instrument. This work will take place for specific US-based sites, but interaction with the global team to work through progress and blockers will be expected.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• This Practitioner should have 7-10 years of performing high-visibility hands-on lab support work.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:• Demonstrates facility in customer-facing activities including:• Technical upgrades of operating system, scientific software, and PC hardware• Testing of operating system and software operations, PC hardware operations• Ability to troubleshoot issues related to the end-to-end system, and implement back-out plan as required• Bachelor's degree (preferred in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline)• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to analyze, articulate and solve problems• Ability to learn quickly, move with agility between assignments, multi-task, and to work effectively in a team environment, both face-to-face and remotely• Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence• Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations
