Swim Instructors (Part-time)

Shift Needed:

Saturday mornings 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5 to 7pm

Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10 to 11am

The Y is a leading non-profit for strengthening community, and the nation’s longest provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.

Minimum age – 16 years

Lifeguard Certification is preferred

Certifications a plus – CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid

Must be at least 16 years old to apply.

Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA Standards- swim 4 of the 6 strokes in good form.

Preferred YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent

Shift Needed:

Saturday mornings 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5 to 7pm

Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10 to 11am

No experience- $9.50 to start

Salary: $12-$15/hr for certified instructors (must be 16 to be certified)

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint and National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them. Free clearances are based on a six-month retention.
