Mid-Level API Java Developer

We are hiring a Mid-Level Java API Developer to work in a development team for our client's customer facing application. You will manage interactions for this application as well as a 3rd party vendor application.

As a Java API Developer, you should have a software development background and be able to facilitate, design, and develop technical solutions for existing Java applications and processes. You will interact with Lead Developers, System Analysts, Business Users, Architects, Test Analysts, Project Managers and peer developers to review system requirements, design and develop software solutions and enhancements. Your future duties and responsibilities• Design and develop applications using latest Java concepts in Spring Boot.• Design and maintain APIs, services, and different payment sources• Work with API developers across the teams to build new API features at large-scale• Improve API standards and services• Review design documents and provide feedback on approach and estimates• Provide technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software.• Ensure that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.• You will resolve technical problems discovered by the team and internal clients. Responsible for responding in a timely manner. Researching issues and performing root cause analysis.• Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements complex software applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role General• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams and in an Agile environment.• A knack for solving problems and providing solutions.• Proactive; willing to take ownership and drive outcomes

Must have Technical Skills:• Minimum 5+ years of overall experience primarily designing and developing Java J2EE applications• 3+ years API development• Strong knowledge of the java frameworks (Spring MVC, Spring Security)• Spring Boot/Microservices• Web services (WSDL Soap, Restful)• Proficient and hands on experience with Application Servers (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss)• Good knowledge of relation database, specifically Oracle (SQL - PL/SQL)

Desired Skills• Angular• Test Driven Development (JUnit / Spock)• Micron API framework• Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift• Banking industry

Education: BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related IT field or equivalent combination of experience and education
