Job Title : Supervisor, Supplier Relations

This position is located in the Pittsburgh site of Thermo Fisher Scientific, part of the Customer Channels Group (CCG). Represented by our Fisher Scientific brand, we deliver choice and convenience to our customers.

How will you make an impact?

The Supervisor of Supplier Relations will lead a team responsible for the management of the supplier compliance system to hold suppliers accountable to meet expectations set in Supplier Guide.

This position will partner and leverage internal and external relationships with the objective of optimizing Supply Chain processes that result in tangible improvements and determine initiatives that will result in additional top line growth to deliver a world class experience for our customers.

What will you do?

Supervise a Team of Supplier Relations Analyst and Representatives directly responsible for North American Supplier Compliance.

Builds and grows partnerships with key suppliers to drive company efficiencies in cost and service by improving processes, identify opportunity areas, uncover root causes and drive sustainable corrective actions.

Leads initiatives to develop and pursues key strategic goals with suppliers

Forge strong relationships with managerial peers within the department and interdepartmentally to effectively execute key initiatives.

Supports and manages the Fisher Scientific Global Supplier Guide responsible for strategic development of supplier requirements for both North America and Europe.

Owns and manages the Supply Chain website ensures all information for supplier access is up to date and accurate.

Educates and informs Portfolio and Finance Teams of the impact of supplier compliance issues on our business.

Stays abreast of industry trends in Supply Chain and is active with GS1 and other global organizations.

Develop and execute the preparation and distribution of monthly and weekly scorecards.

Owns and manages expense offsets and is accountable for weekly, monthly, and quarter end reporting

Interact with Supply Chain Planning, Warehousing, Transportation, Product Management, Commercial, Finance, and Customer Service on cross-functional teams.

How will you get here?

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Merchandising or related field.

5+ years of experience in Supply Chain related discipline with Vendor Relations experience.

3+ years managerial experience of people, processes, and projects, preferably in a high-volume distribution environment, with purchasing, inventory management, or supplier relations management

Experience with Order Management and Warehouse Management systems

Must be capable of producing and leading analytical projects to improve decision making

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Experience with business intelligence tools (Oracle / Cognos) or relational databases (SQL).

Experience with process improvement methodologies (PPI, Six Sigma / DMAIC, 8D, et al.).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability.

Demonstrated sense of priority and urgency.

Demonstrated ability to manage with facts and not emotion.

Must be able to travel.
