Job Description

The Systems Training Manager is responsible for promoting understanding of the ITS system and associated improvements through training, communication and utilization. They will work to develop and administer training programs that drive acceptance and adoption of the ITS, thereby realizing system benefits and improving revenue collections. This position will work with subject matter experts to identify business objectives and processes that can be improved to support the Department’s mission.

Essential Functions

  • Develop strong understanding of current business processes throughout the business operation and how the ITS and other Department technologies will impact those processes going forward
  • Participate in project related meetings and update key stakeholders on the progress of technology adoption
  • Assist in the development of project plans for implementation
  • Work closely with department managers/directors to identify appropriate training programs for each division
  • Map training plans and schedules
  • Design and develop multimedia visual aids and presentations for ITS and other training curriculums
  • Provide employees with classroom training and demonstration, webinars and recorded trainings, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops
  • Conduct system orientation sessions
  • Communicate with and educate business users about potential business process changes necessitated by project goals and initiatives
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
  • Maintain employee training records
  • Keep current on training design and methodology
  • Champion change and ensure deployment of business processes
  • Work with users to ensure compliance and consistency in the execution of newly implemented processes
  • Support an environment of open and collaborative communication with all staff to ensure positive employee morale, effective conflict resolution and upward flow of creative ideas for the benefit of the company and its employees.
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance
  • Track and report issues
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Training and Development or Organization Development or Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on training experience on technical and non-technical topics for an organization of 500 or more employees
  • Experience in managing and tracking training programs to determine compliance
  • Experience in training others in software adoption is preferred, not required
  • Public Service experience is preferred, not required
  • CPLP Certification is preferred, not required

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Problem solving and root-cause identification skills
  • Experience promoting process change in large organizations with multiple stakeholder groups

Additional Information

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
