Product Support Developer - Retail Services

Job Description

The Production Support Developer will be part of the Retail Operations Team and maintain technologies in production and testing environments, while developing subject matter expertise. You will support CES|BLUE, a web-based platform specializing in Retail Energy data management (EDI), billing, and forecasting/scheduling services. You will contribute to efficient resolution of production issues by diagnosing bugs, performing urgent code changes, writing SQL data scripts to modify the system, and peer reviewing code. In addition, you’ll be staying abreast of client needs, system changes, and driving process improvements. Data is the foundation of this role. Critical thinking and a problem-solving attitude will be critical to your success in the role of production support developer.

• Provide daily operational support of proprietary CES|BLUE application
• Peer review code changes and promote code for release
• Analyze data anomalies to provide basic statistics on bugs, write SQL scripts to correct data
• Review SQL Procedures, SSIS packages, and C# applications to diagnose the root cause of bugs
• Propose and/or Develop fixes for SQL Procedures, SSIS packages, and C# applications to resolve bugs
• Document the custom software system, and create/maintain reusable runbooks and scripts for the team
• Coordinate with internal client leads on status of client tickets and gather requirements as needed
• Encourage a culture of accountability for ensuring system has minimal defects and adheres to company standards
• Propose and push forward the development of process improvements and efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, or 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Previous experience with the energy industry or EDI is a strong plus
• Strong SQL experience basic and aggregate SQL queries
• Competent with writing T-SQL procedures and C# applications
• Competent with root cause analysis of .Net C# applications and T-SQL
• Experienced with SSIS development and debugging
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make quick, fact-based, decisions
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to multi-task and change directions as requirements and priorities change
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
