Principal Consultant - Site Investigation & Remediation Management (Mid-Senior Level) - R00014963 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Site Investigation & Remediation Management technical team in Malvern, PA. In this role, you will provide project management and senior technical assistance on site investigation, remediation, and environmental construction projects for clients locally and nationally in a fast-paced consulting environment. In this role, you will contribute your leadership, client relationships, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM's business and client base in Mid Atlantic, while networking with ERM's global Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation (LPMR) technical team and technology experts to share best practices across the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects for a variety of clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in the manufacturing, power, technology, and oil & gas sectors, with particular focus on sites in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Mid Atlantic. Design and oversee implementation of remedial solutions for contaminated soil, ground water, and other media using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems. Oversee multiple projects within client's scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables across ERM's LPMR service line [e.g., Brownfields redevelopment, site investigation and remediation, sustainable sediments, risk assessment, environmental construction management, site closure and decommissioning]. Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff. Coordinate with ERM offices in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions on national and international project delivery. Train and mentor junior staff on technical concepts and field work implementation. Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline. Masters preferred; or 8 year's equivalent experience. 7-10 years consulting experience working with significant industrial clients on complex site investigation/remediation projects under a variety of state, federal, and international regulatory structures (e.g., CERCLA, etc.). Registered Professional Engineer preferred. Excellent writing, communication, and strategic thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple competing tasks and prioritize effectively. Advanced knowledge of the local regulatory climate in New England. Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
