What you will be doing?The Driver/Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for transporting clients to and from the facility. The ability to follow the direction of the Clinical Director and BHT Supervisor and safely transport clients in a timely fashion will be imperative in this role. When working on the floor as a BHT observing client behaviors, recording their conditions, and leading them to therapeutic and recreational activities. Driver/BHTs will work various shifts and will provide overall supervision of the clients in the facility and demonstrate exceptional care when transporting clientele.
What tasks are required?
Safely transport clients to and from doctor appointments, meetings and activities.
Ensure all clients are accounted for at all times.
Be respectful and caring to clients but must maintain proper boundaries.
Inspect assigned vehicle and document mileage on a trip-by-trip basis.
Immediately report missing equipment and/or damage to the vehicle or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
At the end of each shift, leave the vehicle locked and secured at the facility.
Responsible for obeying all traffic laws, and for reporting any and all violations at the time of occurrence.
Immediately notify appropriate individuals of any accidents.
Completes necessary accident reports in a timely manner.
Ensure that clients and passengers in the vehicle are wearing their seatbelts prior to operating the vehicle.
If a client or a passenger requires immediate emergency resuscitation while in the vehicle or at any other time during the transport, call 911, give the location of the van or area and immediately begin CPR.
Supervising clients during transport.
Observes client behaviors.
Adhere to safety standards.
Enters client information into a database (EMR).
Ability to explain and complete admissions paperwork.
Ability to complete the admissions process with incoming clients including search, Urine Drug Screen, Breathalyzer.
Promotes a healthy recovery environment.
Performs general housekeeping functions.
Under direction of supervisor, establish appropriate therapeutic boundaries, utilization of identified clinical resources to review boundaries, limit setting for behavior, and develop therapeutic relations with clients.
Assists in monitoring the therapeutic activities with patients., assist other team members as needed.
Work directly with the clients and provide proper recovery support.
Special Projects as needed.
Positively promotes current organization to prospective clients and employees.
Ability to monitor activities of individuals in need of substance use treatment.
Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
Participation in continuing Professional Development.
Knowledge of strategies for providing therapuetic care to those who live with substance use.
Skilled in meeting client needs in keeping with state required staff-to-client ratio.
Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance use.
Ability to follow procedures in crisis situations.
Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery at Hanover to prospective clients and employees.
What we need from you?
Job Type: FULL TIME
High School Diploma
Preferred, Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS), or willingness to pursue
Valid Driver's License
