QualificationsWhat you'll be doing: Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of design, technical products, and systems. Also, responsible for resolving associated mechanical and fabrication problems, prepares drawings and participates in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Performs engineer design evaluation. May develop a range of products. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

Bachelor's degree required with 5 years of experience preferred.

Responsible for designing new products to include all design of equipment/machines involves metals, plastic, thermal, electronics.

Create CAD 3D parts & assemblies, build prototypes, analyze structures (FEA), optimize designs for manufacture.

Excellent drafting skills are required, experience and knowledge of GD&T to create functional drawings, assemblies and BOMs.

Address manufacturing & assembly challenges, apply DFX (DFM, DFA, DFC etc.) in product design.

Create & manage CNC programs for the laser cutter, turning center & robotic welder.

Produce engineering documentation such as project reports, standardized work procedures, operational manuals, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.

Maintain CAD & production data for existing products.

Basic proficiency in electronics & programming

Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.

Design product for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Measures machine and parts during production to ensure compliance with design compliance and design specifications.

Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs, use Solidworks or similar CAD package – Modeling, assemblies, drafting & analysis

Provides production support to the machining area and the assembly area.

Project phases are completed accurately and timely.

Costing and pricing analyses are accurate and complete and effectively support decision making.

Design compliance.

Coordination of development and designs.

Planning and formulation of projects.

Completion of project reports and statistics.

Team working, good communication and effective working relations exist within the engineering team and with other departments.
