Apply today and become part of the team which is helping to shape the future of electricity generation.Job SummaryParticipate in all phases of the systematic approach to training in order to provide high quality learning experiences that qualify Susquehanna operators and improve operator performance. This position includes active and positive partnership with Operations department personnel and leadership. Operations Instructors are seen as extensions of Operations leadership when training Operations personnel and therefore are required to model the technical and leadership skills and behaviors necessary to instill and reinforce Operations standards. Seniors Operations Instructors are leaders among these leaders and with their strong Operations and Training knowledge and experience are called upon to help develop other Operations instructors and Training personnel.Primary Responsibilities

Train and evaluate Operations personnel in the classroom, the control room simulator and the plant. This includes non-licensed nuclear plant operators, initial license candidates, licensed operators, shift technical advisors, shift managers, and other station personnel as required.

Complete ongoing training and evaluations to maintain a senior reactor operator license or certification and instructor qualifications in accordance with applicable station standards.

Develop lesson plans, simulator scenarios, job performance measures, procedures, training analyses, curriculum schedules, work plans, emergency drills, evaluation tools, and other material as required to support Operations and Training goals.

Identify, analyze and correct performance gaps in accordance with the station corrective action program.

Perform/support self-assessments, benchmarks and other performance improvement activities.

Maintain SSES simulator fidelity and certification in accordance with NRC regulations and ANSI standards.

Support collateral duties as required including but not limited to:

Refueling outage supportEmergent plant issue responseOn-call Emergency Response OrganizationBasic Qualifications/Experience

Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification at a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or previous Reactor Operator (RO) License at Susquehanna OR at least 10 years of Operations experience

Previous classroom and simulator instructor experience (preferred) or excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated potential to become qualified to Susquehanna standards.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Experience developing regulatory examinations in accordance with NUREG-1021, “Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors.”

Completion of INPO Instructor Training.

Previous supervisory experience. Proficiency using VISION© Training administration software. Proficiency operating L3M™ simulator software.
