The Manager of Health and Safety Excellence will play a key role working with the systems and tools which help form the backbone of Air Products' culture of premier safety, driving the company to achieve outstanding safety outcomes globally.In this position, you will provide HandS expertise and promote Worker Safety globally through demonstrating, maintaining, and improving systems, tools and programs. You will also lead data collection and analysis of key global leading and lagging safety metrics. In addition, you will reinforce and facilitate adoption of EHS Management systems across regions and sites.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Provide expertise and coaching globally on Worker Safety topics.Lead the Center of Excellence for Field Safety.Find opportunities to improve efficiency of Health and Safety systems, including lifesaving standards and the behavioral safety program. Benchmark internally and externally to identify standard methodologies.Lead the serious incident review board and the Safety Steering Committee for our major business areas.Provide leadership in identifying and implementing electronic tools that will drive safety performance improvement.Ensure EHS training uses the best methods in delivery, knowledge retention and proficiency and that it is current.Ensure safe work processes to meet global regulatory needs, such as GHS and REACH.Responsible for the Global Procedures Manual - maintaining and improving systems for identifying gaps, updating content, and sharing standard methodologies.Travel to customer sites to present on Air Products EHS Management systems.Travel to set up new regions or major sites with Air Products EHS management systems.Lead the Tools, Standards, Training and Reporting (TSTR) team (5-10 employees) by identifying resource needs and developing SMART goals.Support EHS due diligence activities in support of successful acquisitions and the development and implementation of robust EHS integration plans.Process owner for regional Crisis Management at the senior management level.The Successful Candidate Will Have:Formal training in worker safety.Experience with selecting and rolling out groundbreaking electronic tools that enable the reduction of human error in performing critical safety tasks such as permitting work and energy isolation.Field safety or operations experience leading safety at a senior level in an industrial chemical setting across multiple locations in a refinery or petrochemical or large chemical production facilities.Lead safety during large maintenance turns.Familiarity with construction safety methods.Managed driver safety.Ran a behavior-based safety management system.Experience with implementing safety management systems and tools for dispersed and decentralized facilities as well as large refinery scale facilities.Familiar with safety challenges of operating across multiple countries.Education and Experience:Degree in EHS, Engineering or other technical undergraduate degree (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical).Significant safety management experience in an industrial setting.Dynamic field safety and EHS Management experience in complex industrial facilities.Solid understanding of EHS legislation/regulation and compliance strategies employed by multi-national companies.Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization, across functional and reporting
