Retail Store Manager

Express Employment Professionals is now looking for an experienced Retail Store Manager to manage a local automobile tire company.

This evaluation-to-hire position is perfect for the experienced managerial candidate who is able to interpret the business climate, and optimize the work of supervised employees to increase sales. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the company.

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for:

Ensuring effective coordination of all retail functions (i.e. strategic, advertising, trade shows, open houses, promotions, etc. within budgetary constraints and opportunities).

Developing & implementing a retail marketing and sales plan for this location which is consistent with corporate policies, goals and objectives.

Supervising employees engaged in sales, fostering an environment of teamwork & commitment.

Working with commercial sales and service personnel to take care of our customer’s needs.

Evaluating market reactions to advertising programs and merchandising policies to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.

Coordinating sales promotion activities and prepare, or direct workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising.

Taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions for Accounting Department.

Ordering merchandise or prepare requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand.

The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:

Ability to interpret and write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume using concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Experience/ Education Needed:

Previous manager experience, preferably in retail.

Previous experience with Microsoft Office & POS computer software.

High school diploma/GED.

Located in Salem, OR

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Pay: $35/hour, Depending on Experience
