Dental Hygienist - 2 Positions available: part time & full time
Oregon, Portland, 97201 Portland USAStevenson Dental Care is seeking two skilled Dental Hygienists to join our dental team in the Columbia River Gorge. We are a small private practice, with three assistants, one dentist, four operatories, and typically one Dental Hygienist (currently on leave) and we are looking to add another Hygienist! This position requires a strong commitment to infection control, communication, and a fast paced work ethic. We emphasize a positive, relationship driven work culture and work/life balance.
Option one: Dental Hygienist Part time, 2 days a week, choose 2 days from from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Tuesday and Thursday clinic hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Monday and Wednesday Clinic Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. One hour Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM. Choice of workdays but the days must be consistent once chosen. Mondays and Wednesdays we work 7-6.
Option two: Dental Hygienist Temporary full time -expectations of 8-12 weeks Tuesday and Thursday clinic hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Monday and Wednesday Clinic Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. One hour unpaid Lunch 12:30-1:30 PM. . This position also has the potential to be absorbed full time or to be absorbed as permanent part-time after contract period.
Duties
- Conduct thorough dental prophys, periomaintenance, and assessments for patients of all ages
- Review and document patient medical records and dental histories.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
- Assist the dentist during routine examinations for your hygiene patients
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety regulations: Turning over rooms, keeping your rooms stocked, keeping instruments sanitized
- Utilize Open Dental Software
- Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment.
-Up to 4 quadrants of scaling and root planing per day
-Take xrays and probings according to office frequency protocols
Qualifications
- Valid dental hygiene license in Washington State
- Knowledge of general dentistry practices, including infection control measures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Previous Hygiene & dental office experience is advantageous but willing to accept the right new graduate
