SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (Hillsboro)

Job Summary:

System Administrators are responsible for the deployment, configuration and maintenance of mission critical technologies throughout the organization. Axiom is seeking an individual to assist with design, implementation and support of companywide IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include server, workstation, phone, security and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, responsible for ensuring the timely process through which problems are controlled. This process includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, documentation and follow-up steps on highly complex problems/situations.

Serves as primary interface for questions and issues pertaining to the computer systems, network and telecommunications hardware and software systems. Keeps track of problem reports through Axiom’s ticket-tracking tool. Generates help-desk and IT reports and performance metrics on a weekly basis. Reports defects in third-party products to vendors and follow through to ensure timely closure. Responsible for installing, upgrading and configuring hardware and software systems. Keeps the system configuration, capital asset and software license tracking database up-to-date and ensures compliance. Analyzes and Troubleshoots complex user problems and system level problems of maximum level complexity. Efforts will facilitate minimum user and system downtime. This position must perform these responsibilities with an awareness of all ISO and departmental requirements.

Additional responsibilities include:

Under general supervision conducts technical projects to investigate new technology, products and tools.

Under broad guidelines performs studies, makes recommendations to enhance computing, network and telecommunications infrastructure and services that are increasingly robust, stable, secure and manageable. Implements enhancements after recommendation approval.

Creates computer and network support/management utilities in Visual Basic scripting

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information-Systems.

Experience: A minimum of three years network/system administration experience

Experience supporting Syteline, WindowsNT/WindowsXp, SQLServer, Pervasive, Btrieve, Exchange, Outlook, MS Office, Visio and other popular applications.

Experienced answering hardware and software related questions and solving related issues real-time in a fast paced environment.

Familiar with some of the following: DNS, WINS, TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, SSL, Visual Basic and associated APIs, HTML/ASP, MS Access, SQL Server and ODBC.

Firewall management: Policy management as it pertains to ITAR and NIST SP 800-171

SIEM management: Comfort deploying rules to monitor network infrastructure.

Network Management: Design, configure, manage and troubleshoot multilayer/segmented network.

ERP: Support on premises Syteline ERP system.

Batch, PowerShell, SQL programming.

Workstation support: Automate, design, configure and troubleshoot workstation issues.

Manufacturing experience: Experience with computing infrastructure related to SMT manufacturing.

Ability to self-manage time and set goals based on business need.

Skills: Customer support oriented mindset. Ability to learn independently. Can do attitude and ability to deal with change and conflict in a positive manner. Ability to understand priorities, constraints and problem escalation, and meeting commitments. Ability to analyze and solve problems grasps new concepts and keeps technically current.

Professional level written and verbal skills.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

Qualifications Desired:

Education: MCSE, A+ Certification, CAN

Experience: Supporting computer networks consisting of 10+ Servers and 150+ Work Stations

Maintaining ERP and MRP systems

Supporting Novell 4.11 Servers/Clients and Networks
