Accounting Manager

Bullivant Houser Bailey, PC has an opening for a full-time Accounting Manager to join the Finance team in our Portland Office. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and trust accounting. The role includes financial and tax reporting, fixed asset management, month end close activities, expense analysis and budgeting, annual review coordination, insurance renewal facilitation, bank account and credit card maintenance, and other duties. Skills required include effective and positive communication, critical thinking, problem solving, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, good business acumen, strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and handle conflicting priorities. Successful candidates will possess professionalism, flexibility, reliability, exceptional customer service, enjoy working both independently and in a team, and thrive working in a fast paced environment.

In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting.

 5+ years’ experience, law firm or service industry preferred

 Knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting

 Strong budgeting and financial reporting skills required

 Technical general ledger accounting and month-end close experience

 Advanced computer skills in accounting software, databases, and excel modeling.
