PLASTIC SURGERY FRONT OFFICE MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with office at Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a qualified Front Office Medical Receptionist with at least TWO YEARS of medical office experience. Experience in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is preferred.

As the Front Office Medical Receptionist, you have a critical role in the practice, as you are the first telephone contact for our patients and the first person our patients meet in the office. A positive, friendly, energetic and compassionate personality and professional appearance are required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Your purpose is to ensure outstanding service to patients, providing the first telephone and personal contact with patients in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner. You will provide procedural information and pricing information to patients inquiring about various surgical procedures, schedule patient appointments, communicate medical information to patients, schedule surgery at several hospitals, preauthorize surgical procedures with insurance companies, collect payments, order office and clinical supplies, maintain exam rooms, and manage medical records.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Medical office experience, basic knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of standard medical office protocol, and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Experience with EMR is preferred, with Epic and Lytec experience being a plus.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Outstanding interpersonal skills, a warm and friendly personality, and the ability to communicate effectively and accurately with patients and staff are critical. Good spelling and grammar are required in written and email communication. Excellent organizational skills, time management and multi-tasking capability are required for answering multiple telephone lines while processing patients and managing patient flow in the office. Every patient must always feel that they are respected and highly valued.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL:
Position requires a very strong attention to detail in everything, and the ability to be very thorough with all responsibilities. You will maintain the organization of the Front Office space and medical documents and records, so a self motivated desire to be extremely organized and systematic is highly valued. Your enthusiasm to provide new ideas, structure and organization is important.
WAGE: $23+ per hour, commensurate with skills and experience
START: As soon as possible, includes work training
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 32-38 hours per week
