Oregon, Portland, 97201 Portland USADescription We are in the process of recruiting an Attorney/Lawyer to join our Litigation Practice Group at our Portland, Maine location. The selected candidate will be instrumental in handling a wide range of litigation cases and will work closely with clients to resolve complex legal issues.Responsibilities: Handle extensive litigation cases including jury and non-jury cases, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings Work closely with clients throughout the litigation process to provide high-quality service and resolve legal issues Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and legal proceedings Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents related to litigation cases Utilize strong written communication skills to prepare detailed legal memoranda and briefings Employ excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, colleagues, and court personnel Handle complaints and conduct pre-litigation processes efficiently Manage civil litigation and commercial litigation cases as per the need Travel occasionally based on business needs and case requirements Maintain a high standard of detail oriented conduct and adhere to all industry legal and ethical guidelines. Requirements Possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school 3+ Years of litigation experience Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction Proven experience in civil litigation and commercial litigation Demonstrated ability in handling complaints and pre-litigation processes Proficient in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including litigation documents Strong experience in litigation defense and litigation practice Excellent skills in conducting legal research and writing legal memoranda Familiarity with discovery process in litigation Ability to articulate legal strategies and concepts clearly and concisely Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills High ethical standards and detail oriented integrity Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Commitment to continuing detail oriented development and staying updated with changes in law Proficient in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
