Duration: 18 MonthsLocation: Portland, OR(Remote due to COVID19)As a Global Supply Planner, you will be responsible for creating and communicating the global supply plan for Client and its affiliated brands. The supply plan dictates Client’s finished goods production schedule based on aggregated global demand requirements and capacity constraints. Successful planning will enable timely demand fulfilment and stable production flow while minimizing inventory risks. You will work closely with regional demand, global manufacturing and other cross functional partners to support strategic buy plans and enable seasonal brand strategies. This role will support our Footwear business for both Client and Sorel brands.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:• Effectively create and manage the pre-season planning and in-season execution and optimization of a wholesale finished goods seasonal buy flow plan for a specific set of vendors.• Use analytical and reporting skills to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, better communication and improve processes, and support transparency within the Global Supply Planning team and Planning as a whole.• Drive high levels of planning accuracy enabling inventory reduction, improved resource utilization, product cost savings, and delivery precision.• Monitor and manage supply chain constraints such as lead times, sourcing strategies, capacity, minimums, transportation, raw material minimum order quantities, buy ready, and factory allocations to optimize buy flow at finish good vendors.• Communicate constraint impacts on demand fulfilments to regional partners and Supply Planning regional lead.• Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to optimize process improvement and increase efficiency across the supply chain.•Represent the Global Supply Planning team as the strategic contact for execution of global processes. Participate in discussions with key strategic partners across many levels of the organization.• Effectively prepare and present on relevant topics to various groups, including peers, cross functional partners, and management, to elevate the position and department through the development of strategic relations and organizational awareness.• Partner with Material Planning to resolve RM minimum issues and opportunities to reduce negative impacts on finished good vendors and company costs.• Must utilize supply planning processes, systems and tools, incorporating professional supply planning techniques.• Support corporate initiatives through engagement with key business partners and drive adoption of these initiatives across the Global Supply Planning team.

Secondary Functions:

Act as a Regional Lead: • Must drive strategy within that region; act as a liaison between the entire Planning Organization and the key stakeholders of that region (Regional Directors, Demand Planners, and Regional Supply Planners).• Co-lead regional conference calls, prepare agenda to support these calls, and ensure comprehensive follow up on any outstanding issues within that region.• Provide reporting on region specific metrics such as pre-build quantities, percent booked at given points in the season, and initiative tracking.• Coordinate team tasks to support demand fulfilment for the region.• Drive constant communication, collaboration, reporting analytics, support, and innovation within that region and all cross-functional partners.• Lead the Global Supply Planning Team in the execution of day to day tasks, as well as tactical functions related to this region.• Be an outgoing authority for the Global Supply Planning Team; always keeping a comprehensive understanding of the state of the business within this region.Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Scope:Job is frequently varied and often includes new or unique work assignments involving a moderate to high degree of complexity. This position requires solving complex problems and developing creative solutions based on evaluating options and working with different functional partners. Variety is seen in working with various product lines and functional areas. Complexity is found in optimizing a number of factors involved with production planning and multiple conflicting priorities. Works on complex tasks within the job function where evaluation and judgment is required. Decisions are made within general department policy constraints. Errors in judgment would result in poor delivery, lost sales, excess inventory, closeouts and reduced profits Work is checked or verified by results. Usually works with minimal supervision.

Interpersonal Contacts:Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the organization. Internal contacts may include overseas Liaison Offices, Regional Planning, Global Planning, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Merchandising, Product Development, Global Company Planning, Global Transformation Project Teams, Managers and Directors across the organization. External contacts may include contractors supporting Supply Chain Transformation and ERP implementation, and finished goods factory management. Interactions tend to focus on information exchange, problem solving, explanation, discussion and interpretations. Contacts regularly contain confidential/sensitive information. Incumbent occasionally initiates contacts on his/her own with 70% being by phone or e-mail and the remainder via face-to-face interaction.

Supervisory Responsibility:Provides guidance to peers and colleagues but has no formal supervisory role. May have project and process lead accountabilities.

Desired:• Experience in key supply chain functions including material requirements, master production schedules, production planning, manufacturing, inbound and outbound logistics, and distribution.• Experience using information systems associated with demand and supply planning.• Ability to use Microsoft Access or other similar database software, including running pre-formatted reports and creating ad hoc reports.

Education:.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting or Supply Chain Management preferred or equivalent work experience. MBA beneficial.

Experience:3-5 years’ experience, preferably in supply chain management, planning or logistics and mastery of relevant technical or business skills required to accomplish the job.Footwear industry experience strongly desired. International business work experience desired.

Job Conditions:Job requires hours that may occasionally exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during times of peak activity. Evening meetings and/or weekend work occasionally required to collaborate with people in other time zones and to ensure timely project completion. Some job pressure exists in the balancing of several projects with conflicting and sometimes changing deadlines. The ability to sit for extended periods and to bend, kneel, and stoop. Ability to operate telephones and computer hardware and software, including keyboard and 10-key. Exposure to a computer CRT.
