POSITION AND ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

Fort George Brewery is announcing the creation of a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist position. This person will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical equipment on Fort George properties across our full-service restaurants, small-batch and production breweries, and distribution warehouse. This person must have an extensive background in heating/air or comparable mechanical trade, a strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to shift workloads as needed, and communicate with/respond to a wide variety of organization leaders/staff. This person will benefit from being a self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team in order to ensure operations can always proceed as safely and as smoothly as possible. Routine travel between properties is required, and schedule will occasionally include weekends, evenings, holidays and extended hours as the need arises. Fort George Brewery & Distribution is a growing company in historic Astoria, Oregon which operates two separate breweries (small-batch and production/packaging), a craft-only distributorship, full-service destination restaurants, a small beer focused taproom, and which is preparing to expand into a new production facility this year.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

-Someone willing to abide by all Covid-19 related safety measures and company safety policies at all times to ensure their own safety and that of our staff, vendors, and customers

-A minimum of 5-10 years experience in heating and air or comparable mechanical trade

-High Pressure Boiler Certification in Oregon preferred, or required to obtain within 6 months of hire

-Refrigeration Certificate in Oregon preferred, or required to obtain within 6 months of hire

-Commercial electric background a huge plus

-Valid driver’s license, ability to safely operate warehouse vehicles/equipment such as trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, wrappers, etc. (training offered upon hire)

-Ability to treat all employees with dignity and respect; contribute to an environment where all employees do the same
