Job Description: Shipping/Receiving Coordinator/Sales

Basic Purpose:

Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare Items for shipment including packaging, inspection of packaging, counting, addressing, loading materials on truck and completing all associated paperwork. Will be also answering phones and fielding sales calls, contacting potential cold calls and all aspect of operation.

Receiving incoming freight. Inspect the package for freight damage, get copy of Bill of Lading and verify pieces received, secure packing list and verify quantity of each item received. Complete Receiving Log, mark items received with Quadel Item and deliver to appropriate department.

Principal Accountabilities:

Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.

Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.

Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

Confer and correspond with carrier representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.

Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain shipping supplies inventory.

Deliver or route incoming freight to appropriate department using hand truck and forklift.

Compute amounts of space available, freight charges, and lead times.

Pack, seal, and label and prepare material for shipping using hand tools, power tools, computer, etc.

Communicate with customers regarding freight issues, tracking information, and other freight issues.

Work closely with the sales department to schedule and coordinate shipments to arrive in a condition and time frame that meets or exceeds the customers expectations.

Physical Demands:

Requires occasional lifting of 80lbs. Continuous bending, crouching, kneeling, walking and stepping. Regular lifting of 30lbs.

Machines, Tools and Equipment with may be used, but not all inclusive:

Forklift, tape dispenser, knife, personal computer, pallet jack
