HELP WANTED: EXCAVATION/SITEWORKS LABORERS

Excavation and Siteworks company in Central Point Oregon, has immediate openings for full time job-site laborer positions for our siteworks, excavation and concrete projects. To apply: please respond to the email associated with this ad and include your related experience and work history.

Laborer Responsibilities:

Will be performing tasks involving physical labor for construction projects including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.

May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.

The ability to understand information, ideas, direction and then be able to perform the task or project discussed and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Clean and prepare construction site to eliminate possible hazards.

Assist in the set-up and tear-down of Traffic Control Devices.

Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.

Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.

Duties may include asphalt paving, erosion control installation, operating sweepers and other miscellaneous tasks related to grading & utility installation.

Place pipe and conduit using combination of machines and hard shovels.

Setting and maintaining grades with use of laser tools.

Underground utility installation for water pipe, sewer pipe, drainage pipe.

May receive training in operation of some trucks or light equipment.

Perform safety inspections of work areas.

Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months of commercial construction experience preferred.

Be able to use gas powered tools (chop saw, water pumps, chain saws, compaction equipment.

Be able to use hand tools (hammers, wrenches, drills, shovels, etc.)

Ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions

Work Conditions:

Must be able to lift 70lbs.

Must be able to stoop, bend, stand and work for 8-12 hours per day.

Must be able to work outdoors (dusty, wet and muddy, cold/hot or dirty surroundings) often in excavations or trench boxes installing pipe and/or drainage structures

Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed.

Additional:

Must be drug free and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Must have good work ethic and ability to understand and work with management in a team environment.

Must be accountable for conduct and have excellent attendance.

Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.

Valid driver’s license required.
