Position Summary:

The Planner works as a part of our Client Services team to manage many evolving groups of parts in our ERP driven manufacturing environment. They work with Detailers, Estimators, Purchasing, Scheduling, and Production Supervisors to ensure that Bill's of Materials and Routings are accurate and effective at meeting client demand and flow. Collaborating with factory supervisors and personnel is required on a frequent basis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze and define scope of projects parts.

Complete accurate Bill of Materials and Routings in MRP system.

Perform routine job costing and adjust BOM’s, Routers, and cost parts accordingly.

Consistently review all existing client program work to ensure client and company goals are being achieved and improved upon when possible.

Responsible for timely part number set up to facilitate and meet production deadlines.

Follow up on job order progress and issues in Production, as needed or requested.

Proactively communicate, maintain, and complete accurate Item Master records.

Collaborate with others of the Client Services team, the management team, Sales, Production, Scheduling, Shipping, and Installation to form a complete action plan for the project.

Assist Account Managers and Project Coordinators with identifying completeness of job orders.

Review shop drawings and architectural drawings, cost estimates and various reports for accuracy and completeness.

Work in production to ensure first articles meet client quality expectations and time estimates through factory work centers reflect sustainable practices.

Work in production to review and update product techniques for production optimization.

Assist in organizing and actively participate in and/or lead Production ‘kick off’ meetings.

Collaborate with the Installation Team on projects to identify any concerns prior to production.

Collaborate with manufacturing Supervisors and Leads to assess ‘best practice’ for manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with Assembly & Shipping to identify best packaging and crating practices.

Act as the primary point of contact for all Production related concerns

Communicate and distribute information regarding potential production schedule deviation(s) due to changes, labor or material shortages, or any other schedule interruptions.

Effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:

HS Diploma or GED equivalent; AA or BS degree preferred; 1 to 2 years of related or progressive experience in product development, research and development, production planning, or other related experience in manufacturing; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
