PCL is recruiting for Transition & Children’s (T&C) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide fun, life enhancing services to children who live in Keizer/Salem and experience Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). We are also having Virtual Interviews!

PCL is looking for DSPs who will provide safety, stability, nurturing, and life skills education, while also ensuring every child gets to experience a fun-filled, positive, and loving environment in which to grow and develop. Successful candidates will be ethical, patient, reliable, tenacious, compassionate, able to work independently, and adaptable.

Shifts currently available at our Keizer home and subject to change:

Sat/Sun 7a - 8p (part time)

Sat/Sun 8a - 10p (full time)

Mon - Fri, 3p - 10p (full time)

Thurs - Sat 10p - 7:15a Awake Overnight (additional $0.25/hr differential) (non-driving) (part time)

Sun 9p - Wed 10a Live In (additional $0.50/hr differential) (full time)

Wed 10a - Fri 4pm Live In (additional $0.50/hr differential) (full time)

All shifts include team meetings every Thursday, 9am - 11am

Essential Functions:

To be able to do this job, you must:

Consistently and frequently engage with the children you’re providing support, to help them build independence, emotional regulation, and communication skills.

Be willing to play and share the fun part of life with a child while ensuring their safety.

Maintain a strong understanding of all support documents and systems in place for the children you support.

Be able to regularly attend all training, team meetings, and scheduled shifts as outlined in the position acceptance.

Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 25lbs. Depending on work location, some positions may require a higher lifting requirement.

Have basic computer skills and be able to complete all required documentation via computer or written, as required.

Receive and maintain CPR, Oregon Intervention System (OIS - IF), Bloodborne Pathogens, Mandatory Abuse Reporting certification, and other certifications required by the position, PCL, and other governing agencies.

Be able to respond to emergency and/or crisis situations while on shift using the least intrusive method to ensure safety, which may at times require physical interventions.

Maintain positive relationships with children supported, PCL team members, and others with whom you will interact.

Be able to work unsupervised and alone with children who are supported.

Compensation:

All employees are paid on a monthly basis.

Base Wage $13.50 with an additional $1.00/hr differential for T&C (minimum wage until new hire training is successfully completed including completion of Core Competencies). This is total of $14.50 per hour before any additional shift differentials

Additional Live-In differentials of $0.50/hr as listed above.

Full time employees (30 or more hours a week) are eligible for 401(K), Paid Time Off, Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance and Life Insurance coverage.

Requirements:

Be 18 years of age or older.

Possess a valid government issued photo ID, driver’s license preferred.

Some positions require that you be able to meet agency insurance requirements to be able to drive.

Be able to pass a State/Federal background check. Fingerprints may be required.

Pass a pre-employment drug screening for illegal substances.

Pass a pre-employment computer skills assessment.

Be able to physically support someone during periods of escalation.

Training Requirements and Expectations:

Attend a required Meet and Greet. This is the scheduled first day of work.

Shadow shifts between Meet and Greet and Orientation Training.

Attend a two week orientation training in Monmouth, Salem, and/or Virtual, may be flexible with prior communication.

Complete all classes and submit all documentation required during orientation.
