Teacher Assistant

Casa dei Bambini of Bend, OR is hiring a Teacher or Teacher Assistant!

We are looking for a qualified candidate to work at either of our Montessori Schools!

We have 2 schools:

A Montessori school for infants and toddlers (ages 3 months – 2 years)

A Montessori School for toddlers (ages 2 – 5 years)

Casa dei Bambini aims to prepare children for life by providing a superior educational foundation as well as the building blocks for life skills that will nurture the development of each child to his or her fullest potential by providing a traditional Montessori prepared learning environment!

Qualifications include:

At least 18 years of age

Have a high School Diploma

A love for working with infants and/or toddlers

A Positive Attitude

Great Communication Skills (with both staff and children)

Excellent in a Team-Centric Environment

Some Knowledge of the Montessori Philosophy (None to Some Experience / Knowledge)

Available Monday – Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm and/or 8:30am – 5:30pm, 8 hrs./day / 40 hours/week

Valid Driver’s License

Must be willing to complete 15 training hours total each calendar year (Can be completed ONLINE)

Recommended:

Be Enrolled in the Central Oregon Background Registry (MUST HAVE BEFORE WORKING, TAKES ABOUT 2 WEEKS)

Some Experience in a Montessori School

Some Experience working with Infants and/or Toddlers

A Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card

A Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid for Children and Infants Card

Speak / Write / Teach Spanish Language

Within 30 Days of Hire You will Need to:

Be Enrolled in the Central Oregon Background Registry

Take and Pass the Oregon Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Course (RRCAN)

Take and Pass the Oregon Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety Course (INCCHS)

Hold a Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card

Hold a Valid Pediatric CPR and First Aid for Children and Infants Card

(IF HIRED AND YOU DO NOT HAVE THESE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, CASA DEI BEMBINI WILL PAY FOR YOU TO OBTAIN THESE REQUIREMENTS and most can be obtained through free online courses)

Complete 15 training hours total each calendar year (Can be completed ONLINE)

Duties / Responsibilities:

Provide a safe, nurturing environment for learning the true Montessori Method

Understand Casa dei Bambini’s Goals and Standards and apply them daily

Encourage the children in the above 9 “Developmental” areas

Assist the Teacher(s) and Students:

In Lessons and when the Children are “Working”

Help Serve and Assist with Snack(s) and Lunch

Observe the Children and their Specific Interests

Respond to the Child(ren)’s Needs

If at the Infant/Toddler School Specifically:

Assist Infants in Feeding them Bottles

Assist Infants / Toddlers with diaper changing and/or using the toilet

Assist in Toileting at the Toddler School Occasionally
