- As a member of the Server Team, you will be responsible for administrating Unix Server Operating Systems running on multiple domains in physical and virtual operating environments, providing technical oversight and consultation services.
- Ensure operating environments are properly configured and functioning as per requirements/engineering specifications as related to specified network and storage components and applicable tool suites, performing functional validation after system or component modification.
- Provide on-call support to resolve application outages and performance degradations, including after-hours.
- Configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Unix based operating environments and associated components such as the File System and Domain Name System (DNS).
- Proactively monitor operating environments using Enterprise Systems Management toolsets as well as unique MP toolsets and correct system anomalies.
- Monitor system performance to identify and correct performance issues.
- Manage clustering at the OS level, leveraging clustering software (ex. Solaris cluster, Linux clustering etc.).
- Install, configure, administer, and support secure remote access utilities and applications including Secure Shell, Secure Web Access, Virtualization (Hypervisor, VMWare, etc.) and Remote X server access.
- Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts.
- Utilize Unix scripting (Bourne, Korn, PERL, BASH, PowerShell and other DISA standard tools, etc.) to optimize and automate system administrator tasks.
- Perform hardware and software technology refreshes.
- Manage a variety of tickets, covering incidents, problems, changes, service requests, etc.
- Conduct daily audits to validate servers are backed up, unless documented as exempt and approved by Government technical leader per the applicable Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs).
- Perform security compliance functions for Windows server environments including analyze, monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose operating environments to ensure system optimization, confidentiality, integrity, availability, and functionality.
- Active Top Secret
- Open to candidates eligible to obtain a Top Secret
- 5 years of relevant experience with Unix Servers and System Administration.
- Experience with Unix Server Versions:
- IAT Level II certification, Security+ CE (or a similar IAT-II certificate)
