Title: IT Project Manager (Automotive/Manufacturing)

Travel percentage: 5% travel to 3 local assemblies’ plants in Detroit area, nothing overnight

Position: Full Time Direct Hire / Permanent

Reports : IT Manager

Start Date: January / February 2021

Interview process: 3 steps (phone screen + Microsoft TEAMS + F2F or TEAMS with HR & GM)

Experience: minimum of 10 years of overall experience with 3+ years in

automotive/manufacturing environment.

Environment: Non-Nicotine facility. Nicotine will be vetted in the initial 10 Panel Drug screen.

Notes: The role will be the ‘right hand’ to the SR IT Mgr. The current Sr IT Manager is in charge of the corporate office’s IT with 1100 employees where it manufactures and assembles plastics automotive exteriors components, Additionally, he oversees 3 others smaller assembly facilities in the area (all within 1 hour). So, the role will have heavy Project Management responsibilities along with assisting to manage the ongoing support of the plants. The candidate must have both Infrastructure and development (application) experience as a Project Manager or employee management. Automotive experience is a must. A lot of growth potential, can move up in approx. 6 months to a year.

Specific Job Duties:
  • Manage I.T. projects related to program launches and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Lead I.T. requirements definition for projects and coordinate with internal and external resources to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Must have application developer PM experience or application developer management experience
  • Lead team of full stack developers and Technical Support Analyst
  • Support manufacturing systems related to QAD ERP systems, data collection systems, administrative applications, and other implemented applications, as required.
  • Control and Coordinate all aspects of application definition, development, testing and implementation.
  • Control and Coordinate all processes, documentation, auditing and continuous improvement of backup planning and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity and compliance with customer and corporate reporting and audit requirements.
  • Developing and communicating security strategies
  • Documenting security processes, monitoring security processes, leading security audit activities
  • Providing guidance and direction to developers including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
  • Ensure that all IT changes are properly tested, documented and implemented without or with minimum interruption to the standard business operations
  • Develop and create standards related to software/hardware changes, backups, user changes, security policies and procedures, disaster recovery plans, and other key standards related to IT best practices and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure, and business applications
  • Work with the System Administrators and Network Engineer to design and deploy a robust architecture that will facilitate growth of new applications being developed and deployed.
  • Excellent understanding of Database systems and cloud technologies and Infrastructure

Related Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Project Management in an I.T. manufacturing plant environment.
  • Leadership experience with programmers and administrative positions to effectively direct and coordinate staff to achieve clear goals and implement successful solutions.
  • Experience with MS Project, Visio, SQL, MRP, ERP mandatory
  • MES and QAD MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience with automotive manufacturing environment mandatory.
