SUMMARY:Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization fighting ALS on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure. The Loan Closet Program Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects associated with the National Equipment Program including durable medical equipment services. This includes working with the home office on program development, implementation, monitoring, tracking, data collection and establishing action plans to achieve program deliverables and communication to all stakeholders. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Receive referrals and obtains all necessary patient, medical, demographic information, and documents from referral sources via various communication methods to establish and coordinate equipment needs.

Work with the Assistive Technology Specialist to identify and meet the needs of people with ALS

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Association Territory staff, medical directors, home office staff

Develop positive, progressive relationships with clinic center staff by maintaining ongoing communication

Work closely with local/regional/nationwide durable medical equipment companies in implementation of the National Equipment Program

Function as durable medical equipment expert for local Care Services staff and/or partner clinics

Provide direction, education, and support to all stakeholders on the National Equipment Program

Proactively recommends revisions to program as indicated by information received, strategic initiatives and required deliverables

Facilitate the review and completion of all durable medical equipment related relationship agreements

Assist Managing Director/Director Care Services to maintain comprehensive, accurate data on National Equipment Programs in all data platforms

Develop and coordinate the continued overview/assessment of utilization of National Equipment Program

Conducts regular inventory control evaluations/assessments at equipment warehouse locations and with partners

Documents interactions and activity related to the National Equipment Program in database and ensures Care Services staff follows standard operating procedures related to the program

Assist Managing Director/Director Care Services as assigned

Ability to travel as required or requested

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in allied health profession; Assistive Technology Professional (ATP); ATP certification preferred; Occupational Therapist (OT); or Physical Therapist/Physical Therapy Assistant (PT, PTA)

Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment required

Durable Medical Equipment experience required

Experience with progressive neurodegenerative disease

Knowledge of complex rehab equipment

Possess knowledge of the durable medical equipment as it relates to the progression specific to individuals living with ALS and knowledge of the types and variety of equipment available to those served

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Comfortable working in a database system

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Salesforce and database experience a plus

Ability to work independently with little supervision; must be a self-starter

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent customer service skills

Must be able to travel across the territory. Ability to work nights and/or some weekends as required.

The ALS Association’s pay range for this positionis $46,191 - $57,597 annually.The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets. The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer. The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
