Your key responsibilitiesYour primary responsibility will be in architecture, design, and development of on premises and cloud-based applications with focus on cloud native application solutions. You will be expected to leverage your knowledge of leading practices and tools in this area to create efficient, reliable, scalable, and high-performance applications. You will collaborate with front-end, integration and data engineers to produce high-quality end products to exceed the expectations of our clients.Skills and attributes for successDemonstrate technical capabilities that support enterprise architecture solution development

Build strategy towards optimal solutions for the platform and associated tools

Leveraging your experience in cloud-based IaaS, PaaS and SaaS hosting to create architecture blueprints and solutions designs

Demonstrate strategic thinking through a proven ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues related to regulations, industry practice and new application technologies

Deliver efficient & high-quality native cloud applications with an additional focus on cloud infrastructure solutions

Deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability etc.

Interface effectively with third-party vendor technical experts, client technical team members, etc. to define and gain agreement on solution approach

Experience with software and product development lifecycle (including coding, code reviews, source control management, testing, debugging, deployment and operations)

To qualify for the role you must haveBachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience at a Property and Casualty (P&C), Life or Group Benefits Insurance carrier or consulting firm; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience

Ability to design distributed solutions dealing with cloud-hosted solutions dealing with real time high volume of data

Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options

Strategic business acumen and understanding of organizational strategy and ability to design information systems to deliver that strategy

Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and corresponding tools like Jira

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, Docker containerization, using Azure Container Registry and deploying to Azure Kubernetes (AKS) clusters, preferred

Strong understanding of one or more development platforms like .Net, C#, Java, JavaScript

Design and Architecture experience in either Backend applications or Frontend applications

Experience working with globally distributed/offshore teams

Ideally, you'll also haveExperience with one or more Insurance software packages such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, EIS, FINEOS, FAST, Limelight Health, iPipeline, Vitech, etc.

Experience with one or more platforms such Microsoft, Adobe, etc.

Insurance (P&C, Life, Employee Benefits) or other financial products (e.g., Annuities and Retirement) domain knowledge

Good understanding of cloud services such as Azure, AWS etc. and ability to choose the right service for a workload distribution

Front end / UI technologies including frameworks such as React / Angular.js

Experience on low code/ no code platforms like Unqork, Microsoft PowerApps etc.

REST / Webservices (with high performance, global, scalable elements) development experience

SQL, XML, JSON, Linux, ELK stack, Splunk, GIT, Ant / Maven, Jenkins

Familiarity with Data Ingestion, Analytics, AI technologies (preferably on Microsoft Azure)

Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical content to non-technical customers

Automating configuration management, infrastructure, and application deployments in a toolset, such as Helm, Puppet and Chef

Experience with Linux and scripting languages such as Shell, Python and PowerShell

Willingness to travel as necessary to meet client needs

The salary range for this position in Denver, CO and Hartford, CT is $153,400 to $318,600
