JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide a visual security presence to ensure that residents and visitors have a safe and pleasant

environment. Inspect and patrol property to protect against vandalism, terrorism, theft, fire, and

different types of illegal activities. May be armed (if properly licensed) and use various

telecommunications devices to call for assistance from fire fighters, police forces, and emergency

medical services if necessary. May also interview witnesses or victims to prepare case reports and testify

in court.

Responsibilities

Provide a visual security presence. Watching for unusual activity.

Conduct rounds to ensure that front and rear entrances are secure. Patrol floors to make sure that all is

quiet and secure. Also check stairwells and fire exits.

Respond to Resident complaints of noise, loitering, unusual activity.

Security Officer shall monitor alarm systems, sign visitors in and out of the building, verifying

visitors are not on trespass list and denying entrance to those that are and contacting appropriate

authorities.

Criminally trespass visitors who are not abiding by established community rules and properly

documenting in shift report so that management can act accordingly.

Be familiar with and understand the community rules of the complex.

Monitor video cameras of activity at property.

Maintain a shift report and visitor sign in/out log to be turned in at the end of each shift.
