Job Description

IBI is currently looking for Electrical Designer to join our Raleigh, NC or Southfield MI office. The Electrical Designer role will develop construction drawing for projects across our offices.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • Produce lighting, power, auxiliary, and fire alarm drawings for municipal, commercial, and industrial project.
  • Ensure projects have a defined BIM Execution Plan and champion fulfillment of the plan throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  • Perform various Building Information Models (BIM) tasks such as producing, reviewing and managing project drawings and documentations
  • Be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance of the models

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

  • 8 years of experience in Revit design
  • 3 years of experience designing electrical systems in Revit.
  • Familiarity with interoperability between Revit and other disciplines-specific software programs.
  • Experience with lighting, power, auxiliary systems (data, access control, security, CCTC) fire alarm
  • Good communication skills for team-based working environment and for teaching others about best practices in BIM
  • Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
  • Ability to interact with external entities (clients, owners, agencies) to interpret and understand desired BIM or CAD delivery requirements.

The space is newly renovated, modern and convenient to exemplary dining, shopping, arts, architecture, music, festivals, and more. The capitol city is an easy 2-hour drive to the Atlantic coastline and a three-hour drive to the Great Smoky Mountains. The office is also located within a short drive to Raleigh-Durham’s International airport (RDU) and three of our nation’s top universities.

The rise of Covid19 created new challenges to the typical office working environment. From the beginning IBI reacted quickly turning these challenges in to opportunities. Within a couple of weeks, IBI transitioned to working 100% remote. We are dedicated maintaining distance working until it is safe to return to work.
